As Americans prepare for Christmas, many retailers and services are operating with adjusted hours on Christmas Eve. Most major grocery chains will remain open but close early. Aldi locations generally close at 4 p.m., Food Lion at 7 p.m. (with pharmacies open 9 a.m.–3 p.m.), Stop & Shop at 6 p.m., Trader Joe’s at 5 p.m., Wegmans at 6 p.m., and Whole Foods at 7 p.m.
Drugstore chains including CVS and Walgreens will be open, though some locations and pharmacies may operate on reduced schedules.
Several fast-food chains and restaurants plan to remain open on Christmas Eve, including Applebee’s (select locations), Burger King, Dunkin’, IHOP, McDonald’s, Taco Bell and Starbucks. Chick-fil-A and Domino’s hours vary by location, and customers are advised to check locally.
The U.S. Postal Service will operate on Christmas Eve, with post offices open and regular mail delivery available, except for Priority Mail Express. Mail will also be collected from blue collection boxes on December 24.
