Lions vs Vikings score as Detroit eliminated from playoff contention

The Detroit Lions were eliminated from playoff contention after a 23–10 loss to the Minnesota Vikings on Christmas Day at U.S. Bank Stadium. The Lions committed six turnovers, wasting a strong defensive performance and struggling offensively throughout the game. Quarterback Jared Goff endured one of the worst outings of his Lions tenure, throwing two interceptions and losing three fumbles. Despite starting rookie quarterback Max Brosmer, who finished with only three net passing yards in his second career start, the Vikings capitalized on Detroit’s mistakes to secure the win. The loss dropped the Lions to 8–8 and last place in the NFC North, while Minnesota improved to 8–8 and third in the division.
