Second actor accuses Tyler Perry of sexual assault in new lawsuit

Actor Sues Tyler Perry Over Alleged Sexual Assault, Seeks $77 Million

An actor who appeared in “Boo! A Madea Halloween” has filed a lawsuit accusing filmmaker and media mogul Tyler Perry of sexual assault and misconduct, marking the second such lawsuit against Perry in recent months. Mario Rodriguez filed the complaint Thursday in California, alleging Perry subjected him to repeated unwanted sexual advances over several years, including sexual battery at Perry’s Los Angeles home. Rodriguez is seeking at least $77 million in damages and has also sued Lionsgate, accusing the studio of ignoring Perry’s alleged behavior. Perry’s attorney denied the claims, calling the lawsuit a “failed money grab.” Lionsgate has not commented. The lawsuit follows a separate case filed in June by actor Derek Dixon, who has also accused Perry of sexual misconduct while working on Perry’s television productions.
